The referendum results are in. The Raymond School District #14 School Board, Staff, and Students want to thank our community for their engagement as we navigate the challenges of school funding in our state. The residents in our community have decided to reject the request for an operational referendum.
While the results were not what we were hoping for, we have learned a lot about the community's desire. Our team needs to continue to share plans and operate our school using a deficit funding model for this year, meaning we will be spending more than our current revenue allows, requiring adjustments in budgeting and resource allocation. The outcome of the referendum vote will require adjustments to our workforce, including reductions in some teaching and support staff positions. We will be seeking approval of the plan for next year’s staffing at the April 22, 2025 board meeting.
We will continue to plan for the future by evaluating budget efficiencies, exploring alternative funding sources, and prioritizing student-centered programs to determine how Raymond School District #14 will look and operate. We have a lot of work to do to continue moving our district forward. However, we are confident that we will maximize the use of our budget to keep our students and their needs FIRST.
